Isolt Sayre story and Ilvermorny Sorting

Hello! So today an introductory video to J.K. Rowling’s latest writing and the writing itself on Ilvermorny was released today on Pottermore.

The video is great! It’s 1:53 long, the narrator’s voice is on point and it leaves you with a desire to read the whole story asap, which leads us to…

wbc02_still_01

Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, let’s be honest all J.K. Rowling’s writing is amazing, she is one of the best authors of our time. Isolt Sayre story which is technically the one the same story of Ilvermorny ( at least the begging of it) is so beautiful and sad and I can’t think of any more words to describe it I just love it.

I like her relationship with William the Pukwudgie, who plays an important role in this story, the relationships with the Boot Boys and James Steward, the fact that she is a descendant of Slytherin. Talking about, one thing I like is when it’s mention that the very best of Salazar Slytherin seemed to have migrated to America because I believe it to be true which also makes me really sad that Rionach didn’t marry because she didn’t want to pass on Slytherin ancestry completely oblivious that the ignoble descendants had survived in the other side of the ocean. Also I hope that  some of Martha’s descendants have the magic gene which I know they will…

I love the fact that Ilvermorny is somehow alike to Hogwarts because Isolt dreams to go there and that her stories made the Boot Boys want to back to Ireland so they could get their letters ( I’ve been there boys) and can we talk about the houses and the sorting ceremony, I love the sorting hat but the magical statues that represent the four houses doing something to let you know they want you in their house? That’s awesome and there are weird-special cases in which all four want you, mindblown.

In conclusion I really loved this writing.  Also you can do the Ilvermorny sorting ceremony on Pottermore and I’m proud to announce I’m in the Pukwudgie house, which I love because of William.

What are your thoughts on this writing? what was your favorite thing about this story? Did you do the sorting ceremony? If so which house are you in?

Hope you are having a great day. Until next time.

Who will survive?

Hello! Yesterday at night I was laying in my bed and an idea came to me, I was going to post something completely different but I decided to to along with the idea better. So basically what I did is that I put a bunch of characters name in a cup and some situations/settings or actually I don’t know what to call them but you’ll understand when you see it. So I’m picking two charcters to see who, in my opinion, whill survive. The books I choose are all dystopia. Now let’s get to it:

#1. Finnick Odair vs. Jeanine Matthews in The 74th Hunger Games.

Jeanine is intelligent maybe she will get far into it but let’s be real Finnick is a victor, he will win the games for sure.

#2. Daniel “Day” Wing vs. America Singer in the 5th Wave.

Ohh, okay so both are intelligent so they will discover who the others really are and that they are being used. Day will probaly make an escape plan for both but America would fall behind and get herself captured and eventually killed, Day would try to help her but he is only one guy versus a lot of Others so he’ll end up escaping.

#3. Primrose Everdeen vs. Gally in The Maze.

Oh. I mean Prim would have been the doctor from the glade but I don’t think she would have survive the grievers attack…

#4. Uriah Pedrad vs. Evan Walker in The Flare.

A divergent vs. an alien, who would survive? The flare gets to your mind and I do think that a divergent could be immune to it but someone has to die and I’m pretty sure the Others would only die with multiple bullet injuries or something like that not a sickness, even like this one, so Evan survives.

#5. Gale Hawthorne vs. Maxon Schreave in a Republic persecution.

So they are both running becuase the Republic said they are traitors. Maxon would get caught and killed. Gale is a soldier so he will manage to escape.

#6. Ringer vs. Katniss Everdeen in a crank attack.

Ringer is a tough girl but I can see cranks as a type of mutts which I believe Katniss will survive, Ringer will totally put on a fight and kill a lot of cranks but will eventually get caught.

#7. Peeta Mellark vs. June Iparis in the bloodbath at the cornucopia.

June sounds like she would be a career and even thought Haymitch told them to run away from the cornucopia since someone has to die, June would probably killed Peeta.

#8. Tris Prior vs. Thomas in the attack to District 12.

They will both try to help people get out but Tris would actually pause to help while Thomas would tell them to keep running while running himself. So yeah Thomas would survive.

#9. President Snow vs. Johanna Mason in dauntless iniciation.

This one is fun. Snow would probably like Eric and Peter, he would definitely try to/help kill, actually kill at least one person or you know just stab someone in the eye to be part of dauntless but Johanna will totally destroy him.

#10. Ben Parish/Zombie vs. Tobias Eaton/4 in the 3rd wave.

Congratulations Four you survived the first two waves but I’m not sure you’ll be immune to this disease. Ben in the other hand I know survived the Pestilence.

#11.Aspen Leger vs. Caleb Prior in The 4th Wave.

They survived the first 3 waves but now silencers are hunting the survivors down Caleb is intelligent but so are they, he dies. Aspen may not be the most intelligent person but he is okay and he is strong and good looking maybe his silencer is a girl and he reminds her how to be human, they fall in love and he survives.

#12. Brenda vs. Colonel Vosch in the fisrt wave.

This might not sound fair since Vosch is one of the Others but he would probably still survived if he wasn’t in this versus becuase I think Brenda would have been flying in one of W.I.C.K.E.D drones or whatver they are so she would have died in a crash.

#13. Cassie Sullivan vs. Newt in a mutts attack.

They can both run but the mutts are fast and where designed to kill, they corned them Cassie has a gun, Newt has no weapon. They have seen an exit that is free of mutts they run the mutts close in again, there are two mutts grabbing their ankles Cassie shoots her mutt killing it when she wants to check on Newt is too late he is dead, she runs.

#14. Teresa vs. Minho in the 2nd Wave.

I don’t know if any can swim but we know more about Teresa since she was Deedee, so even though Minho is the one who survives their series I’m going to say Teresa survives this one.

That was it for this post, I do hope you understood how this was because I didn’t do a great job explaining at the beggining. Anyway I had fun writing this and I hope is fun to read.

Until next time.

May Wrap Up

MWP

This year hasn’t been my best for having my reading done because Its my first year at the university and I’m still getting used to it. This has been one of the best month I had to read because I had like a week of vacation, anyway lets just get to the wrap-up:

#1.Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare.

Rating: 5/5

Favorite quote: there are so many but I think I’ll go with this one

“When you love someone, they become a part of who you are. They’re in everything you do. They’re in the air you breathe and the water you drink and the blood in your veins. Their touch stays on your skin and their voice stays in your ears and their thoughts stay in your mind. You know their dreams because their nightmares pierce your heart and their good dreams are your dreams too. And you don’t think they’re perfect, but you know their flaws, the deep-down truth of them, and the shadows of all their secrets, and they don’t frighten you away; in fact you love them more for it, because you don’t want perfect. You want them. You want—” – Julian

Opinion: I just really love Cassie’s books. I love Julian and Emma’s relationship and I’m eager to learn more about this parabatai curse. Mark is back! Things that blow my mind where who the bad guy turned out to be and The Lost Herondale. I also can’t wait to see what will happen with Annabeth and all the Blackthorns.

#2.The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows.

Rating:4/5

Opinion: I was surprised at how much I ended liking this book, the characters were amazing and the world. It was pretty obvious who Black Knife was but I still loved the story and how it ended.

#3.Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins.

Rating:4/5

Opinion:I liked this one better than the Lola one but still the first is the best book in my opinion. It was cute how after so many years they finally ended together and sometimes I was really annoyed Isla’s but I liked her character development. Also the end was my favorite because all the characters are there, Anna and St.Clair and how Josh waiting in the cold for her.

#4.The Mirror King by Jodi Meadows.

Rating:4/5

Opinion: I just really loved this duology, I gave it 4 stars because I think there are some things missing that were just left to our imagination. I wish there was a third book… The case of James totally blew my mind and left me broken hearted and I liked the Wraith boy too. Seriously great story.

#5.The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine.

Rating:4/5

Opinion: I really liked this retelling of Snow White. I liked that we had different pov, all the characters and the world, I loved the names even thought I’m pretty sure I mispronounced most of them. The reason why my rating is 4/5 is because I wanted more at the ending…

#6.The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan.

Rating: 4/5

Opinion: Rick Riordan books are always funny, I love him. Now Apollo being a mortal sixteen-year-old guy named Lester Papadopoulos, I had to read his last name syllable by syllable, was not only funny but cute because he’s truely becoming human and he starts to feel guilt and grief and it was just nice to see that along with his always true personality of a god. And Meg, I like her and I’m broken hearted that she left but I know everything will be okay in the end cause she isn’t like Luke. Also Leo finally returned and he’s going to be on book two!

How many books did you read this month? Have you read any of the books above?

Until next time 🙂

25 bookish facts about me

25

Hello, so yeah first post! The first is maybe the hardest? I don’t know. Anyway to start I wanted to whomever happens to read this, to get to know me a bit first. So here I go:

  1. The fist book I bought and read that was not a Dr.Seuss was Twilight by Sthephanie Meyer. I was 11 and it was after watching the movie. I was a big #twiheart.
  2. My favorite book of all time is The Hunger Games because it was the book that made me fall in love with reading. It made me the bookworm that I am today.
  3. Even though I grew up with Harry Potter, it was with the movies not the books. But before you judge me I have read them like two years ago and I constantly re-read my favorite chapters or moments before going to bed.
  4. Talking about HP I was first sorted into Hufflepuff and when pottermore changed I wanted to confirm that I was in that house which resulted on me having a house crisis because I was sorted into Gryffindor. But I consider myself a Hufflepuff because it was first, I love my wand in there and Tonks who is one of my favorite characters of all time was in there as well.
  5. My favorite Genres are dystopia, fantasy, sci-fi and now I’m getting into the retelling genre.
  6. I don’t usually pick contemporary books except when I’m on a reading slump.
  7. I usually give a good rating to most books because if I finished reading the book it means that I like it.
  8. If i don’t like the book I simply stop reading it, since I don’t finish reading it I won’t rate it.
  9. I will usually wait for a series to be done for me to pick it up because I’m bad at waiting.
  10. But if I’m really exited about the serie I will read the book and no matter the waiting.
  11. I’m mostly a night reader. 90% of the time I will start reading a book before sleeping which results in me sleeping just a bit.
  12. If I’m really into the book I won’t stop reading it until I’m done, I will read on the bus, while walking, just anywhere to find out how it all ends.
  13. Because of that I’ve cried in a lot of public places while reading, most recently I cried in a bus. #noshame
  14. I don’t usually use bookmarks I will simply repeat the page number i’m in until I memorized it before closing the book.
  15. I love history but I haven’t read many historical fiction books. I’m planning on doing it thou.
  16. I love the so called “middle-grade books.
  17. One of my favorite authors of all time is Dr.Seuss.
  18. Sometimes when I don’t find the first book of a series but I find the second or third I don’t care about the order I will read the book that I can even though I don’t understand it, I always plan on reading all the books so eventually everything will make sense.
  19. Mockingjay was the first book I’ve re-read.
  20. I think that a good book has to have at least one death. It’s just my opinion.
  21. I’ve seen some movies that I liked better than the books. Its unusual but it can happen.
